Our Values
At Morgenster, we are not just reviving the spirit of traditional sailing; we are offering you the chance to experience it firsthand. Our commitment to authenticity ensures that every guest and trainee enjoys the challenges and rewards that the sea provides. We believe in more than just sailing, we believe in fostering a deep connection with the ocean and its timeless beauty. When you come aboard, you aren’t just a passenger; you become part of a tradition that has been cherished for centuries. Our mission is to create an experience that is both nostalgic and transformative, a journey that stirs your soul and deepens your appreciation for the wonders of life at sea.
Sailing with Morgenster is about balance, both literally and metaphorically. The interaction with the sea, the wind, the waves, and the sails is more than just a technical skill; it’s an emotional connection. This delicate balance, the constant adjustment between harnessing and surrendering to nature’s raw power, creates a feeling that is impossible to replicate on land. We take pride in minimizing the use of our engine whenever possible, offering you the purest sailing experience, one where you can fully immerse yourself in the unfiltered beauty of the ocean. Isn’t it time you reconnected with nature?
The Morgenster sails with the traditional clipper-brig rigging, a system that has its roots in history. Developed by the Americans during their fight for independence, this rig was designed for speed and agility, allowing lighter vessels to outmaneuver the heavier English Man o' War ships. These early ships, with their fast schooner and brig designs, were the precursors to the legendary clipper ships, renowned for their speed and ability to navigate challenging waters. Now, you have the chance to sail aboard this iconic rig—to not just read about history but to experience it. Feel the wind fill the sails and witness firsthand the incredible maneuverability that made these ships legendary.
"Great atmosphere, very qualified crew, available and helpful to learn the maneuvers. I'm delighted with my stay. The boat is magnificent, clean and well maintained."
