From Aberdeen to Kristiansand
As the third leg of the Tall Ships Races 2025 set sail from Aberdeen, anticipation and adrenaline ran high aboard the Tall Ship Morgenster. With solid winds and a clear course ahead, the crew knew this would be a fast and fierce leg. A true test of seamanship, stamina, and spirit. This leg brought us across the North Sea, navigating from the rugged Scottish coast to the welcoming shores of Kristiansand, Norway. Conditions were nearly ideal: steady winds filled the sails, waves danced under the hull, and for most of the journey, the Morgenster was holding her own, pushing hard in an intensely competitive fleet.

A Hard-Fought Race at Sea
Despite the favorable weather, the competition on the water was nothing short of relentless. Tall Ships from across Europe were locked in close formation, each vying for every meter gained on the water. The Morgenster’s crew, a blend of seasoned professionals and enthusiastic trainees, worked tirelessly to trim sails, read the wind shifts, and keep momentum. The team demonstrated remarkable synergy and endurance, day and night, without pause.
As the leg progressed, the reality of the race set in: we were sailing against the best. Despite giving everything she had, the Morgenster saw some competitors edge ahead. But by the time the fleet rounded the final virtual waypoint toward Kristiansand, the Morgenster had maintained her solid position in the overall rankings, holding her place among the elite of Class A vessels.

Celebrating Success, Embracing the Challenge
There is something deeply satisfying about giving your all. Though the crew faced setbacks and had to dig deep into their resolve, the sense of achievement upon arriving in Kristiansand was tangible. Laughter returned to tired faces. High-fives echoed along the deck. For many trainees, this was a defining experienc. Amoment of shared effort and hard-earned pride.
As always, the Morgenster crew upheld the spirit of the Tall Ships Races: mutual respect, growth through challenge, and the sheer joy of traditional sailing. In the end, the voyage wasn’t just about ranking. It was about camaraderie, skill, and the stories etched into each wave we crossed.
