From the UK South Coast Back to Den Helder, A New Season Ahead
After a successful series of Tall Ship Morgenster day trips along the south coast of the UK, our summer sailing season has come to an end. Shoreham, Plymouth and Penzance gave us some wonderful days on the water and, most importantly, the opportunity to welcome many new guests aboard.
A Taste of Life Aboard a Tall Ship
The idea behind our day trips is simple: you do not need to book a week-long voyage to discover traditional sailing. During a few hours aboard Morgenster, guests can leave the harbor behind, feel the ship come alive and watch, or help, the crew work the sails.
The photographs tell much of the story. Blue skies, hands on the ropes and guests discovering a very different way of spending an afternoon at sea.
The response to our UK day trips has been very encouraging. We certainly intend to include day trips along the south coast of England in our planning again for summer 2027.

Back Home in Den Helder
Morgenster has now returned to her home port of Den Helder. After a busy season, the focus changes from sailing to maintaining the ship.
The coming months will be dedicated to winter maintenance and preparations for the adventures ahead. A traditional tall ship requires constant care, and much of the work that keeps Morgenster sailing happens during these quieter months.
Meanwhile, planning for Morgenster’s 2027 sailing season is already well underway. The first voyages are available to book, with more adventures to follow.

Celebrating 40 Years of Morgenster
Before winter maintenance takes over completely, however, there is an important milestone to celebrate.
In the first week of November, Morgenster celebrates 40 years as a tall ship in the sail training world. Four decades of sailing, thousands of miles at sea and generations of guests and trainees have become part of her story. We will mark this special anniversary during the Traditionele Schepenbeurs at Willemsoord in Den Helder.
It is a fitting location for a celebration of traditional ships, craftsmanship and maritime heritage. And an opportunity to look back at Morgenster’s story while looking forward to the voyages still to come.
