Morgenster Sets Course for Hanse Sail After Challenging Tall Ships Races 2026
The Tall Ship Morgenster has concluded her participation in the Tall Ships Races 2026. Although the crew fought hard throughout the event, the final race leg could not be completed. Strong weather conditions made it clear that continuing the race would compromise the safety of everyone on board. As always, the safety of our guests, trainees, and professional crew came first, leading to the difficult but responsible decision to retire from the race.
Sometimes the sea reminds us that true seamanship is not about taking unnecessary risks, it is about making the right decisions.
Despite not crossing the final finish line, the spirit aboard Morgenster remained high. The race delivered exciting sailing, valuable teamwork, and unforgettable moments under sail. The challenging conditions only strengthened the cooperation between crew and trainees, proving once again that every voyage offers lessons that go far beyond competition.
Now the bow is pointed towards Rostock, where Morgenster will once again take part in the famous Hanse Sail. This annual maritime festival has been a highlight of our summer programme for many years, and every season we are warmly welcomed by the city, fellow sailors, and thousands of visitors. It feels like returning to old friends. Visitors to Hanse Sail will once again have the opportunity to admire the elegant clipper brig, step aboard, and experience the atmosphere of authentic traditional sailing. For many, it is the perfect introduction to life aboard one of Europe’s most active sail training vessels.
Will you visit us in Rostock? Come aboard, meet the crew, and discover why sailing aboard the Tall Ship Morgenster is an adventure unlike any other.
Or better yet, book one of our upcoming voyages and become part of the crew yourself. The next adventure is already waiting.
